A graduate of the SIU Embalming School, he was a funeral director at Norris and Sons Funeral Home in Jones- boro for several years. ROBERT LEE SPENCER of Harp- ers Ferry, WV died June 18, 2020 at the age of 75. A funer- al director for over fifty years, he was the owner and operator of Eackles-Spencer & Norton Fu- neral Home from 1989 until his death. He graduated from the American Academy McAllister In- stitute of Mortuary Science. NORMAN I. “DIGGER” ROTH of St. Louis, MO died June 10, 2020 at the age of 75. He was a fourth generation fu- neral director, president and owner of the Rindskopf- Roth Funeral Chapel, which he acquired upon the sudden death of his father at the age of 19. Roth semi-retired, but maintained an active role in the management of the funeral chapel. He was a mem- ber of the New Mt. Sinai Cemetery Association. DAVID OTTO SCHOENFELD of Beloit, WI died June 20, 2020 at the age of 83. He worked as a funeral director and owner un- til 1972 at his family’s firm. For 32 years, he and his wife, Joan, owned and operated the Schoen- feld Mortuary in Hot Sulphur Springs, CO. For 30 years Dave was elected and served as county coroner. He was past president of the International Coroners Association and the Colorado Cor- oners Association, where he was an instructor for their coro- ners training program. He served as past president of the Colorado Funeral Directors Association, where he received the Funeral Service Mentor Award in 1998. He was a graduate of the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science. FRANK GUBBIOTTI of Exeter, PA died June 22, 2020 at the age of 29. He followed the foot- steps of his grandparents, the late Frank A. and Rose Gubbiotti, and his aunt, Marilyn A. Gub- biotti as a third generation fu- neral director at Gubbiotti Fu- neral Home LLC. He graduated from the funeral service program at Northampton Community Col- lege in 2012 and was a member of the National Funeral Di- rectors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Luzerne County Funeral Directors Association and served as the Luzerne County Deputy Coroner for many years. WILLIAM “BILL” MILES DOUGLAS of Cleveland, TX died June 18, 2020 at the age of 83. He was a funeral director at Neal Funeral Home from 2005 to present. He previously owned and operated Escort Embalm- ing Service in Houston, worked at Pace Stancil Funeral Home and Service Corporation In- ternational for several years and had operated Tri-county Funeral Home, which later be- came known as Probst Funeral Home. CLARK S. BROWN JR of Win- ston-Salem, NC died June 15, 2020 at the age of 81. He ob- tained his embalmer’s license in 1961 and joined his father, Clark S. Brown Sr., at the Clark S. Brown & Sons Funer- al Home. He continued to over- see all embalming operations af- ter he retired six years ago. RENE V. SCHOATS of Musk- ogee, OK died July 5, 2020 at the age of 75. A licensed funer- al director and embalmer for over 50 years, he worked under David Winn I at the House of Winn Funeral Home in Musk- ogee at the time of his death.
