He was a li- censed funeral director for the majority of his working career and graduated from the Uni- versity of Minnesota with a de- gree in mortuary science. DELBERT M. BRAUND, SR of New Madison, OH died September 17, 2018 at the age of 88. A licensed funer- al director, he owned and operated the former Storch- Braund Funeral Home for over 35 years. He gradu- ated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1975 and served on the Ohio Funeral Directors As- sociation convention committee for over 30 years. GILBERT P. “GIL” HANNA of Westlake, OH died Septem- ber 30, 2018 at the age of 78. He was a licensed funer- al director at the McGorray- Hanna Funeral Home for many years. MARTHA JO BROWN RAGLAND of Chattanooga, TN died October 4, 2018 at the age of 89. A licensed funeral director, she served as secretary-treasurer with Chattanooga Funeral Home for more than 50 years. JOHN W. SALLEE JR of Stan- ford, KY died October 3, 2018 at the age of 75. Af- ter retiring from the Navy in 2011 he received his funeral directors license. He worked at Spurlin Funeral Home for 13 years. WILLIAM E. SCHULTZ JR of Mount Laurel, NJ died Sep- tember 22, 2018 at the age of 84. He had a long distin- guished career in the funeral supply industry, most recent- ly working for Messenger Funeral Supplies. LOUIS I. SQUITIERI of Jersey City, NJ died Septem- ber 21, 2018. He joined Greenville Memorial Home in 1982 as a licensed funeral director and became a partner in 1988. He continued to own and operate the firm until the time of his passing. ROBERT HENRY “BOBBY” THOMAS JR of Granite City, IL died September 30, 2018 at the age of 55. He began working as a third generation funeral director at his fam- ily’s business, Thomas Mortuary in Granite City. Bobby also worked for several other funeral homes throughout his career, most recently with Bucholz Mortuary in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from the St. Louis Community College at Forest Park with a degree in mortuary science. WILLIAM L. “BILL” DANKS of Beaver Dam, KY died Septem- ber 13, 2018 at the age of 89. A licensed funeral director and em- balmer, he began working part- time at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg, Reid Funeral Home in Earlington, Richard- son Funeral Home in Russell- ville, Bryn Funeral Home in Mayfield and Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. In 1959, William went to work at Casebier Funeral Home in Bea- ver Dam and continued to work there until 1966, at which time, he and his wife, Ima, purchased the business and es- tablished William L. Danks Funeral Home. A 1950 grad- uate of the Kentucky School of Embalming, he served 26 years on the board of directors for the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, where he served as president from 1974-1975 and was past present of the Southern District. He also served as vice chairman for 13 years on the Kentucky State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. JAY R. ADDISON of Ango- la, NY died September 26, 2018 at the age of 71. A li- censed funeral director, he worked for the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Funeral Home in Salamanca, NY before tak- ing a position with the W. S. Davis Funeral Home in Ar- cade, NY. In 1981, he and his wife, Mary Margaret (Buch- ner) Addison purchased the Heimburg Funeral Home presently known as the Addison Funeral Home in Angola. They owned operated the business for over 30 years before passing it on to their sons Randy and Scott Addison in 2001. He graduated from the Sim- mons School of Mortuary Science in 1968. WILBUR R. HESLOP JR of Mar- tins Ferry, OH died September 13, 2018 at the age of 102. A retired funeral director, he be- gan working alongside his fa- ther, the late Wilbur B. Hes- lop at Heslop Funeral Home. He became president of the firm in 1970, serving in that capacity until his son, R. Greg- ory took over in 1998. A 1940 graduate of the Cleveland Col- lege of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Selected Independent Funeral Homes, Ohio Funeral Directors Asso- ciation and the National Funeral Directors Association. TIMOTHY MARK KILGORE of Hillsboro, TN died Octo- ber 4, 2018 at the age of 59. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he worked for the Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, Moore- Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, Tullahoma Fu- neral Home, Manchester Funeral Home and Coffee County Funeral Chapel. He attended the John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science. WILLIAM G DAVIS of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Rah- way, NJ, passed away Mon- day July 16, 2018, at the age of 80. He was a licensed fu- neral director and owner of the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home , Rahway, for over 40 years before retiring in 2014.
