The average temperature of 105 degrees and humid- ity did not deter scheduling many excursions through- out the trip. For Dr. Joe any trip over- seas would not be complete without visiting a cemetery and/or funeral establish- ment. Dr. Joe had the opportu- nity to visit Al Quoz Cem- etery and speak with their funeral agents.  There are no funeral homes per se in Dubai. The dead are taken to the cemetery where there are “body wash” rooms. The remains are prepared for brief visitation, services and earth burial according to Is- lamic custom. Other highlights of the tour included visiting the world’s largest building, the Burj Khalifa, which towers 148 floors over Dubai, and Palm Jumeirah, a man-made island in the shape of a palm tree visible from  space. A day trip to Abu Dhabi in- cluded a tour of the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates, the GrandMosque, which hold 40,000 worship- ers for prayer services.
