She worked alongside her husband, Pete Dilley, as a funeral direc- tor and co-owner of the Har- ris-Dilley Funeral Home in Bladensburg and North-Dil- ley Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. JANICE L. EARL of Forsyth, IL died August 26, 2020 at the age of 46. She worked as a recep- tionist at the Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home in Decatur for the past twenty-three years. A spokesperson for Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Net- work, she served on the conven- tion committee of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and was the former chairperson. EDWARD “ED” GILLAR of Bryan, TX died July 29, 2020 at the age of 84. A licensed funeral director and mortician for over fifty-four years, he worked at Hill- ier Funeral Home and later Memorial Funeral Cha- pel. A Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, he was a member of the Mt. Calvary Cemetery board. GREGORY HAROLD “GREGG” HAMPTON of Boone, NC died September 5, 2020 at the age of 61. A licensed funeral director for over 40 years, he was vice president of Hampton Funeral Service, which was established by his par- ents, Barney and Tommie Hamp- ton in 1974. TODD J. KENDRICK of Atlanta, MI died August 9, 2020 at the age of 45. A licensed funeral director since 1998, he served families of Montgomery Coun- ty alongside his dad, Russell Kendrick at the Green Funeral Home. Upon his dad’s retirement in 2007, Todd obtained ownership of the firm. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in mortuary science from the Wayne State University in 1977. BERNARD “BUD” S. SKAJA SR of Park Ridge, IL died August 30, 2020 at the age of 89. A 1951 graduate of the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, he was a funeral director and a se- nior partner at Skaja Terrace Funeral Homes of Niles. THOMAS F. VERDI of Pulas- ki, PA died August 26, 2020 at the age of 54. A graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mor- tuary Science, he worked as a licensed funeral director and pre-need manager of the Noga Funeral Home Inc for the past year. CHARLES “CHARLIE” H. VORNHOLT of New Bre- men, OH died August 19, 2020 at the age of 95. A retired funeral director, he owned and operated the Vornholt Funeral Homes in New Bremen and New Knoxville for thirty eight years. He spent several years directing funerals with Miller Funeral Homes in Saint Marys and Knoxville. A 1948 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a mem- ber of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. LEWIS HUNTER WARNER of Winston Salem, NC died Au- gust 27, 2020 at the age of 76. A licensed funeral director for forty-eight years, he had a life- long career as a funeral direc- tor at Vogler’s Funeral Home, now known as Salem Funeral Home. Kappel Funeral Homes in Lebanon Junction and Bos- ton for nearly 34 years. A 1990 graduate of the Mid-America College of Funeral Service, she was a member of the Nation- al Funeral Directors Association and served two terms as presi- dent of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Kentucky State Funeral Directors Association. MARY REBECCA “BECKY” KAPPEL of Lebanon Junc- tion, KY died August 29, 2020 at the age of 72. A retired funeral director and embalmer, she worked alongside her husband, Tommy in co-owning the liam Paul Thomas at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Pi- cher, which they established in 1948. A second location in Mi- ami was opened in 1991 and in 2005 the Commerce location was established. Thomas was a 50-year member of the Oklaho- ma Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Direc- tors Association. WANDA FERN THOMAS of Miami, OK died August 14, 2020 at the age of 96. A licensed funeral director for 65 years, she worked alongside her husband Wil- came president of the firm. For four decades, Morrison served as co-owner, corporate secretary and general manager of David- son Funeral Home. A graduate of the John A. Gupton College of Funeral Service, he was president of the North Carolina Cremation Association and served as the dis- trict director for the North Caro- lina Funeral Directors Association. LARRY DEAN MORRISON of Lexington, NC died Au- gust 22, 2020 at the age of 75. He began his career in fu- neral service as a teenager at Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington, as an ambulance attendant. WILLIAM PENN TROY SR of Mullins, SC died August 15, 2020 at the age of 76. He served his apprentice- ship with Foxworth Funeral Home in Mullins be- fore establishing Troy’s Funeral Home . In 1988 he expanded his services to Loris, SC where he opened the doors to Legette-Troy’s Funeral Home. Troy held a funeral directors license in North and South Funeral Home in Roseland. In 1973 he purchased the for- mer Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, renamed it Pisarski Funeral Homes. He continued to own and oper- ate the business until his sons Frank Jr and David purchased it in 1999. Pisarski graduated from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science. FRANK R. PISARSKI SR of Stevens Point, WI died Au- gust 14, 2020 at the age of 88.
