And the win- ners are: Regan Moreland attending Gupton-Jones Col- lege of Mortuary Science, De- catur, GA; and Katherine Seiler attending Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Pittsburgh, PA. “We are so pleased to once again offer these much- needed scholarships to de- serving students,” said Bea Pedersen, executive direc- tor of the Selected Edu- cational Trust. “Each re- cipient will receive $1,500 towards their mortuary sci- ence tuition and fees,” con- tinued Pedersen, “but we couldn’t make these funds available without the con- tinued generosity of Bates- ville, our scholarship pro- gram sponsor for the last four years.” When asked what this scholarship meant to her, Katherine Seiler said, “With a humbled heart, I say ‘thank you’ for awarding me the 2020 Spring- Cycle Sec- ond-Career Scholarship. My time at PIMS has been full and meaningful. With this financial assistance, I gain confidence in my future en- deavors as I move another step closer to becoming a fu- neral director.” Regan Moreland was equally expressive, “Thank you so much for this amaz- ing news!
