About Nomis Publications, Inc.
Nomis Publications, Inc. was founded by Chester E. Simon in 1974. In 1992, Lucy McGuire, who had been with the firm since its first year of operation, acquired the firm. Still family owned, Lucy’s daughters, Peggy Rouzzo and Kim McGuire, along with Peggy’s daughter, Cindy DelSignore operate the business.
The primary business of the corporation is the compilation and publication of trade directories and a monthly newspaper for the deathcare industry.
About Our Publications
The Funeral Home & Cemetery Directory was first published as The National Yellow Book of Funeral Directors in 1974. The primary usage for this annual directory is to aid the funeral home when making arrangements for the shipment of human remains out of their local area. Originally published in an 8 1/2" x 11" Standard Size format, 1983 saw the introduction of the 5" x 7" Pocket Size format while the Digital Directory was introduced in 2016.
The Buyer's Guide was introduced in 1988 as The Catalog of Funeral Home & Cemetery Supplies. This directory lists all supply and/or service companies to the industry by the product or service they have to offer the funeral director or cemeterian.
Funeral Home & Cemetery News was first published in 1979 as the YB News. This trade newspaper is a compilation of news articles and press releases provided by those in the funeral and cemetery industry. With a monthly circulation of over 20,000, Funeral Home & Cemetery News continues to be a forum to share firm accomplishments or community programs and exchange ideas.
The corporation also operates Boardman Printing. Complete printing services are available both locally and nationally.
