NEWS Educational CONTINUED Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice Appoints New Executive Director Christie Ward BUCHANAN,GA— The Board of Trustees of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Christie “I am proud and honored to be part of this great organization serving leaders in funeral practice professionalism and education.” Ward stated. “I look forward to forming new strategic partnerships and continuing to build on the incredible APFSP legacy, which has already contributed so much to the funeral service industry.” Ward replaces retiring executive director, Patty Hutcheson CFSP, who has served in the role since 2013. Hutcheson will remain an important member of the APFSP team, as an Educational Specialist, assisting CE providers and CFSP applicants and designees. Founded in 1975, The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice instituted the voluntary Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation program in 1976.
