BUILDING WHAT MATTERS (800) 396-2254 A licensed funeral director and embalmer for thirty-eight years, Vickie King White, CFSP, spent her formative years in the industry under the tutelage of the late Vernon E. Larremore and Rev. James A. Bryant, Sr. White’s mother was instrumental in her choice of professions. She was introduced to funeral service in the early 1960’s in her mother’s hometown, Waelder, TX. At one time, the funeral director’s home and business were housed at the same location. Because of the close relationship between her mother’s family and the local funeral director’s family, a trip home always meant a visit to the funeral home. It was here that White’s interest in funeral service was sparked. White graduated from the San Antonio College of Mortuary Science (SAC) in 1984 and is currently serving as an adjunct instructor at the college. A graduate of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association University, she is a member of the Alamo Funeral Directors Association, Ladies Auxiliary (local, state, and national), Independent Funeral Directors of Texas, National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, 100 Black Women of Funeral Service and serves as chairperson of the board for the Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity, Inc.
