Heckel left retail management in 1993 to pursue a more meaningful and spiritual calling with Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark. In 2002, he was promoted to Memorialization Coordinator and in 2003, he was promoted to the Assistant Sales Man- ager Position where he helped recruit and train successful teams focused on serving Catholic families throughout Northern New Jersey. In 2006, Joseph became the Di- rector of Sales, overseeing all sales, marketing and sales administrative activities for the Archdiocese of Newark Catholic Cemeteries Program which owns and operates eight Archdiocesan Cemeteries. Heckel received his CCCE designation in 2013. He has been an instructor at the CCC School of Leadership and Management Excellence since 2018. Over the past decade, he has been Chairperson of the Marketing and Public Relations Committee and Chairperson of the CCC Pro- gram Committee and has most recently served as an CCC Board Member as the At-Large Director of the East. Marianne Linn is the Executive Director at the Cath- olic Parish Cemeteries Association. Marianne’s career with the Catholic Cemeteries began later in life. With two small children it took her seven years to obtain her college degree. In 1997, she graduated from Robert Mor- ris University, High Honors with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration in Accounting. In 1997, immediately after graduation Marianne ac- cepted a position as the Accounting Professional at Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. In 1998 she was promoted to Accounting Manager. In 2000, her career took a different turn when she became the Manager of Family Service where she was able to use her accounting knowledge to assist in manag- ing the administrative staff throughout 12 cemetery of- fices. In 2006, her career took another turn, when she was promoted to Manager of Operations for the Catho- lic Cemeteries Association. In 2009, she was promoted to Director of Operations for the Catholic Cemeteries Association which gave her the experience of working at a higher level and provided her with the ability to make decisions that would enhance their Diocesan Cemeteries. In 2016, Bishop Zubik appointed Marianne to the po- sition of Executive Director of the Catholic Parish Cem- eteries Association which is responsible for the day to day management of all 116 parish cemeteries within the Dio- cese of Pittsburgh. Marianne also works very actively with the Western Penn- sylvania Cemeteries Association having held the position of President from 2016-2018. This organization provides a network for all cemeteries in Western Pennsylvania to sup- port each other and holds quarterly meetings to enhance their knowledge of cemetery topics. In addition, Marianne has also served on the Education Committee for the Cath- olic Cemetery Conference for the past two years. Catholic Cemetery Conference appoints Heckel and Linn Joseph Heckel Marianne Linn HILLSIDE,IL— The Catholic Cemetery Conference announced the appointment of Joseph Heckel, K.H.S., CCCE, CCE Director of Sales, Catholic Cemeteries Archdiocese of Newark to serve the remaining term of MonicaWilliams, CCCE as the CCC Board Secretary. In addition, President Peterson appointed Marianne Linn to serve as the Director-at-Large for the Eastern Region of the United States and Eastern Canada to serve the remaining term of Heckel following his move to the officer position.
