Hen- riquez opened her doors to the res- idents, family and friends of Agen- cia Funeraria El Se ñ orial in Curacoa, Willemstad, Netherlands Antilles to host a 35th anniversary celebration. The evening affair saw those in atten- Funeraria El Señorial celebrate Milestone 35 th Anniversary Crisma R. Henriquez dance brightly attired in coral and jade. Owning and operating her own funeral home business is a dream come true for Crisma. She was one of the first female business entrepreneurs in her country. Completely committed to the funeral industry, for 35 years Ma- dame Crisma has traveled the world attending in- ternational funeral con- ventions to learn the lat- est techniques, products and innovations. She has studied in Puerto Rico and has taken many continuing educa- tion classes to stay current on what is new and useful in the trade. Her two sons and her grandson have accompa- nied her on many occasions. Crisma serves as the International President for the 100 Black Women of Funeral Service. She is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, the National Funer- al Directors & Morticians Association, and the Order of the Golden Rule. She is involved in many international char- itable organizations, including Breast Cancer Awareness, Historical Muse- ums, Women Leadership in Funeral Service and Concerns for the Youth and Ed- ucational Programs. Crisma was honored during the ICCFA Convention in Charlotte with the 2019 100BWFS Leadership of Excellence Award for her 35 years in the funeral pro- fession. She thanked her funeral service colleagues for supporting her and making her feel at home regardless of the part of the world she is visiting. “It has been an honor to be a part of this woman’s tremendously wonderful career and profession. She is part of the generation of females facing challeng- es in our profession,” said 100BWFS founder Ellea- nor Starks. “Funeral service is a per- fect fit for me. I hope my sons and grandsons will eventually get more involved as I want to take the business up a level of perfection. I want to be the one person that is called on when a loved one passes or when my colleagues need my services. We are part of the same funeral service team-both na- tionally and internationally. More wom- en are getting involved as a new owner or a next generation owner. We must sup- port one another when our families are saddened at a loss,” Crisma said. Togeth- er women can make a difference in the funeral profession. You may see Crisma at the 100BWFS Booth 1678 or on the floor of the NFDA convention in Chicago. If you do, be sure to congratulate her on 35 years. Crisma R. Henriquez and Agencia
