We look forward to serving cremation families together.” Curlew Hills Memory Gardens has been an innovator serving cremation families since its founding in 1979. The Cremation Scattering Garden and the Cremorial Garden were both completed shortly after the cemetery opened. That innovation continues to this day with several newly devel- oped cemetery sections and buildings as well as new marketing partnerships. “The cremation rate in Florida is among the highest in the United States, between 61-70 percent,” said Keenan Knopke, president and CEO of Curlew Hills Memory Gardens. “We have a proud history of serving all the families of Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties, the options we offer for cremated remains have been part of Curlew Hills since our beginning. Partnering with Eternity- Gardens.com allows us to expand our on-line marketing efforts and makes it easier for families to learn about the many options we have for human as well as for pet cremated remains.” Woodside Cemetery & Arboretum has served generations of families in Butler County, Warren County, and southwest Ohio since 1891. The 135- acre cemetery, located between Day- ton and Cincinnati, offers a variety of options to meet the needs of all cremation families. In addition to serving as a cemetery, Woodside be- came an Arboretum in 2001 to cele- brate its 110th Anniversary. As an Ar- boretum, Woodside is home to more censed professionals to those who have been in the pro- fession for decades,” said O’Neill. “Our goal is to help funeral service professionals throughout every stage of their careers, and it’s especially exciting to see submis- sions from those funeral directors who’ve also benefitted other Foundation initiatives, scholarships and programs.” The Foundation accepts names for Career Development Awards throughout the year. Submissions are good for three selection cycles. Those interested may submit their names online at FuneralServiceFoundation.org. Informa- tion about each of these innovative training programs is available at NFDA.org. Information about 2019 Foundation ’45 Award oppor- tunities including academic scholarships, NFDA’s Meet the Mentors program and scholarships for the associa- tion’s 2019 Professional Women’s Conference will be available later this year. Since 1945, the Funeral Service Foundation has served as the profession’s philanthropic voice. As the charitable arm of the National Funeral Directors Association since 1997, the Foundation receives operational support from NFDA and donors across the profession to help advance its mission to support funeral service in building meaningful relationships with the families and the communities it serves.
