ALEXANDRIA,VA—
A new partnership
between the
National Hospice Founda-
tion
and
Tributes.com
provides a sim-
ple way for family members to direct
memorial donations to NHF.
Tributes.com is an online source
for current local and national obitu-
ary news and a supportive community
where family and friends can come to-
gether during times of loss and grieving
to honor the memories of their loved
ones with lasting personal tributes. The
site has a database of over 95 million
records dating back to 1936 and doc-
uments more than 80 percent of the
deaths in the United States each year.
“As the number of individuals that re-
quire hospice care at their end-of-life
approaches 50 percent, the need for an
organization like NHF that is laser-fo-
cused on continuing to evolve the qual-
ity of that care is critically important,”
said
Elaine Haney,
CEO and president
of Tributes.com. “We are very much
honored to be in a position to pro-
mote the work of the NHF and to help
stimulate memorial giving through our
platform.”
When creating an obituary, a consum-
er or funeral home may select from a
list of charitable organizations to which
contributions can be made. NHF was
recently added to this list of organiza-
tions as a featured partner and when se-
lected the NHF logo and a Make a Do-
nation link are included in the obituary.
Close to four million unique consum-
ers and thousands of funeral homes use
the site each month to locate and pub-
lish obituaries. As a result, the partner-
ship creates a tremendous opportunity
for consumers to support hospice care
in memory of a loved one.
“Collaborating with Tributes.com
makes so much sense. Memorial dona-
tions are a vitally important component
of the funds we raise at NHF, which are
used to support the care that makes such
a difference in the end-of-life experience
for family members and loved ones,”
said
John Mastrojohn,
executive direc-
tor of NHF. Visi
