Children elects New Board Members Their term of service began immediately. A resident of Bronx, NY, Dr. Georges is a professor and chair of the Department of Nursing at Lehman College of the City University of New York, and volunteer pres- ident of the National Black Nurses Founda- tion. She serves on the board of AARP, the BlackWomen’s Health Study, R.A.I.N. Inc., and the advisory board of the National Cli- nicians Scholars Program. Georges is also a fellow of the American Academy of Nurs- ing and the New York Academy of Medi- cine, and a lifetime member of the National Black Nurses Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She earned her undergrad- uate degree from the Seton Hall Universi- ty College of Nursing, her M.A. in Nursing from New York University, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Vermont. Jim Price has over 50 years of experience in the funeral profession and is a third gen- eration funeral director. Jim is senior vice- president of industry relations for Park Lawn Corporation. Prior to joining Park Lawn, Jim co-founded and served as exec- utive vice president COO of Foundation Partners Group and formerly co-founded and served as COO of Keystone Group Holdings. Jim currently serves on the In- ternational Cemetery, Cremation & Funer- al Association (ICCFA) board of directors, ICCFA Governmental Affairs Committee and is currently president of the ICCFA Educational Foundation. He also serves on the advisory board for the Sykes School of Business, Center for the Study of Ethics at the University of Tampa in Florida. The National Alliance for Grieving Chil- dren is honored to have Alicia and Jim join their mission of serving bereaved children and their families and help ensure that no child grieves alone. The National Alliance for Grieving Chil- dren (NAGC) is a nonprofit organiza- tion that raises awareness about the needs of children and teens who are grieving a death and provides education and resourc- es for anyone who supports them.
