On May 30th the City of Lynn Council recognized the firm with a citation for sixty contin- uous years of service. The funeral home is the second oldest of the three family funeral homes in Lynn. Their son Richard Jr. became involved in the family business at a very young age, hav- ing acquired his apprentice license at the age of 18. Af- ter earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State University, he followed in his dad’s footsteps and received his associate degree in funeral service from the New Eng- land Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences. He became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1981. Richard Jr. is currently the manager of operations and services at the funeral home. He is assisted by Lynn native, Daniel P. Hanlon, Jr. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, Daniel came to funeral service after a career in the medical emergency field where he served as an EMT. Dick has served on many local boards including the Pine Grove Cemetery Commission and Park Commission. He is a Life Member, past Post and State Commander of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 56, Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Nadworny Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been members of both the National Funeral Directors As- sociation and the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Associa- tion since its founding 60 years ago. Located at 798 West- ern Avenue in Lynn, the Nadworny family looks forward to serving the greater Lynn area with dignity and dedica- tion for many more years. of the New England Institute of Ap- plied Arts and Sciences. On May 28, 1958 he founded The Nadworny Funeral Home. During the first eighteen years of business, Dick was also employed by the Rhodes Funeral Home as a funeral direc- tor and embalmer. During those years there were as many as seven- teen funeral homes in the city of Lynn. Today there are only five fu- neral homes in the city and Dick is proud to be one of only three that remain family owned.
