Elegant Black Base ANTHONY L. PREZIOSI of Massapequa, NY died April 16, 2020. A funeral direc- tor for 35 years, he was the manager of Massapequa Fu- neral Home. He received his degree in mortuary science from SUNY Farmingdale and was a member of the Nassau Suffolk Funeral Directors As- sociation. WILLIAM J. “BILL” SCHINDERLE of Algoma, WI died May 19, 2020 at the age of 90. A licensed funeral director for 62 years, he purchased the Schumacher Fur- niture Store and Funeral Home in Stockbridge in 1953 and the Haucke Funeral Home in Algo- ma in 1967. A new funeral home was built in 1971, which is where the Schinderle Funeral Home currently resides. He continued to own and operate it until his daughter, Laurie took over in 1992. Bill remained active in the business until he retired in 2016. A graduate of the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science, he was past president of the Fox River Valley Funeral Directors Association. A funeral director and em- balmer, he was the owner and operator of the Ternary Fu- neral Home in Kamiah, which he purchased in 2006. Wilcox previously worked at Messing- er Mortuary in Scottsdale, AZ. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science . KENNETH MARVIN PURCELL of Vass, NC died May 9, 2020 at the age of 55. A graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service , he became a licensed mortician and funeral director in 1986, and was a certified li- censed insurance agent for 25 years. He established Purcell Funeral Home in Southern Pines NC in 1995. His second funeral home was established in Raeford, and in 2006 he opened his third funeral home in Scotland County. DR. JEREMIAH C. GAFFNEY, III of Inwood, NY died May 6, 2020 at the age of 65. He was the second-generation owner of Jeremiah C. Gaffney Fu- neral Home Inc . in Inwood. In addition to his funeral ed- ucation, he held a degree in Biochemistry and a doctorate in Economics. CHERYL DENISE OLIGSCH- LAEGER of Perry, MO died April 16, 2020 at the age of 65. She was a funeral direc- tor and co-owner of Bien- hoff Funeral Home for over 29 years. STEVEN CRAIG HART of Em- poria, KS died May 29, 2020 at the age of 60. He was a fu- neral director and embalmer at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funer- al Home since 1983. Hart was a member of the Kansas Funer- al Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Asso- ciation. MIKE STEPHENS of Cincin- nati, OH died May 15, 2020 at the age of 66. In 1984, Ste- phens joined The Forethought Group, serving various sales management roles for seven years. In the early 1900s, he joined a start-up funeral home acquisition company. In 2007 he became a regional vice pres- ident of National Guardian Life Insurance Company. He retired in 2019 after serv- ing 35 years in the funeral industry. ARTHUR JOE REID JR of Mil- waukee, WI died May 27, 2020 at the age of 82. In 1981 he co- founded Reid and Yandell Fu- neral Home, which became Golden Gate Funeral Home in 1986. In 1993, the name changed to The New Golden Gate Funeral Home. He be- came sole owner and operator of Reid’s New Golden Gate Funeral Home in 2008 and in 2012 a second location was added in Racine. A third loca- tion was later established onTeutonia Avenue in Milwaukee.
