News Educational BUCHANAN,GA— Spring time has brought more growth to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice . Over the years the Academy has recognized hundreds of funeral direc- tors who have completed the requirements for the CFSP (Certified Funeral Service Practitioner) desig- nation, the highest indus- try-recognized mark of ded- ication to life-long learning. In April and May the Acad- emy has awarded 15 of its members with the presti- gious CFSP designation. We congratulate the fol- lowing funeral profession- als who have recently com- pleted this milestone: Peter Assumma , Pearl River, NY; Daniel Biteocla , Bloom- field, NJ; Frank Cagnina , Fonda, NY; Christopher Calvey , South Abington Twp, PA; Bernetta Grego- ry , Gastonia, NC; Henry Jarrett , Toccoa, GA; Mat- thew Morian , Grapevine, TX; Sharon Patterson , Fayetteville, NC; James Preston , Phoenix, AZ; Ronald Redpath, War- saw , IN; Eric Rizzio , Tra- verse City, MI; Michele Rupar , Statesboro, GA; Patricia Werner , Naza- reth, PA; John Wilson , Louisville, KY; and Amee Wojciechowski , St. Peters- burg, FL. These Academy members join the over 1700 current CFSP designees who have voluntarily committed to going above and beyond the continuing education hours required by most of their licensing boards. The CFSP designation is award- ed after a member accumu- lates 180 hours of approved activities. Once members reach the required hours, they must continue to complete a minimum of 20 hours per year to main- tain their designation. This commitment to continuing education and community service not only sets them apart in the funeral pro- fession, but also shows the families they serve that they have the desire and pas- sion to surpass the hours re- quired to remain licensed. Please join us in congrat- ulating these members for reaching the highest desig- nation awarded in funeral service. The Academy has also added 63 new active mem- PIMS announces Spring Dean’s List bers since the beginning of the year who are look- ing to grow professional- ly.
