EUSTIS,FL—
For
Timothy Totten
,
founding partner of
Final Embrace
,
honoring the service of a military
veteran is a family tradition. Both of
his grandfathers served, with several
uncles, a brother and a niece follow-
ing in their footsteps.
“We’ve seen a lot of requests for a
patriotic cover to honor these ser-
vicemen and women,” says Tot-
ten. “Since offering our first Stars
and Stripes cover, we’ve been over-
whelmed with positive responses.”
This groundswell of interest in the
products prompted Totten and his
team to look at ways to honor more
than just U.S. military veterans. Fi-
nal Embrace has unveiled three new
designs: the Canadian Flag, the Texas
State Flag and the Star of David.
Each cover is made to fit standard
one- and two-man cots, as well as the
newer 24-MiniMaxx cot from
Fer-
no
. Constructed from a high-tech
nylon fabric, the covers are fluid-re-
sistant and designed to remain oper-
able in all weather conditions. The
FluidBlocker fabric used for the top
and lining of each cover was original-
ly designed for mountain climbing
gear, which makes it ideal for long-
term use in sunny, wet or cold condi-
tions.
“All of these flag-like covers are top
stitched, like a really expensive flag,”
shares Totten. “Even though they pay
homage to actual flags, we’ve been
careful to follow Flag Code to honor
rather than desecrate service or reli-
gious dedication.”

Meco Corporation
an-
nounced its acquisition of
Stakmore
, the highly re-
garded manufacturer of
wood folding furniture, in
a transaction that closed
on May 30, 2014. It is an-
ticipated that the acquisi-
tion will give Meco Corpo-
ration a stronger foothold
in the folding furniture in-
dustry and will provide its
customers with a broad-
er line of options to better
serve the consumer mar-
ket.
Headquartered in Owe-
go, NY, Stakmore has been
manufacturing its unique
line of wood folding prod-
ucts since 1922. The same
basic folding mechanisms
designed and patented
by the company’s found-
ers are still the basis for all
the folding chairs and ta-
bles produced today. Stak-
more folding chairs and ta-
bles have a wide variety of
designs for residential and
commercial applications,
including homes, country
clubs, churches, universi-
ties, community centers,
banquet facilities, funeral
homes and more. The table
and chair designs are func-
tional, elegant and avail-
able in a variety of premi-
um finishes.
Meco Corporation, head-
quartered in Greeneville,
TN, has been a domi-
nant supplier of steel fold-
ing furniture since 1959.
Along the same distribu-
tion lines of Stakmore, the
Meco line of furniture has
a variety of styles, colors
and selections for both the
commercial and residential
market.
“This acquisition is key
to our growth strategy,”
said
Mark Proffitt
, Meco
president. “From a growth
perspective, the purchase
is in line with our strategy
of complementing and ex-
panding our product line.
The purchase of Stakmore
allows us to achieve diver-
sity for our customer be-
cause it gives our custom-
er an option of steel and
wood folding furniture un-
der the same umbrella of
one vendor, allowing us to
better serve our retail cus-
tomer.”
All operations and dis-
tribution of Stakmore
products will be moved
to Greeneville, TN. Meco
Corporation will maintain
the same level of quality,
service and delivery.
