Walker and his son, Allen H. Walker, Sr . operated a country store in Hillsbor- ough. As was common in 1922, helping those in their time of need, the family expanded the store, founding Walker’s Funeral Home . With its horse-drawn hearse, the Walkers could offer families all of the services they needed.
