Contact others, if available, where they have en- countered complications, whether about an inspection or with internal matters. How did they resolve their difficulties? Ask! Ask! Ask! Commandment number 6 is my favorite, “Get out of the office!” For so many, as your funeral home grows, so does the administra- tive end. This time-consuming task has a knack for delaying projects. Still, resources exist that can assist you and your funeral home if needed. Do not hesitate. Spend some time researching www.OSHA.gov . Not only is the website a fantastic resource, but it can also be used to assist you in the initial stages of visualizing the larger picture. OSHA is complicated. The compo- nents that makeup health and safety have many mov- ing parts. However, through diligence and an open mind, becoming compliant is achievable. Get out of that office, walk around the prep room, take notes, so- licit your employee’s feedback, and develop a plan. As always, be safe!
