He served as national accounts manager at Messenger before retiring in 2020 after 38 dedicated years in the funeral industry. RICHARD WILLIAM DUFFY of Wilbraham, MA died February 25, 2024 at the age of 82. A funeral director, he provided embalming services over the years at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services. RICHARD KARL GILLMAN of Rittman, OH died March 2, 2024 at the age of 86. A retired funeral director, he owned and operated Gillman Funeral Home for over 50 years, alongside his brother, Bob, who also helped run Rittman’s ambulance service for several years. A graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. PETER JAMES KRISTAN of Mundelein, IL died December 14, 2023 at the age of 66. A funeral director for over 40 years, he was an expert restorative reconstructionist and gifted make-up artist. Kristan served his apprenticeship at Piser Funeral Home in Chicago and continued his career with the family business, Kristan Funeral Home. He graduated from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science. GEORGE “BUD” LINDER of Parma, OH died February 18, 2024 at the age of 73. A funeral director all his life, he retired from Yurch Funeral Home. A. ROSS MARTIN of Butler, PA died February 14, 2024 at the age of 90. A funeral director, he worked at a funeral home in Mount Oliver before establishing the Martin Funeral Home, Inc in 1982. Martin continued to own and operate it until his retirement in 2021. A 1955 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, he was a member of the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association. THOMAS H. “TOM” PERRY of Dartmouth, MA died February 29, 2024 at the age of 83. He co-founded Perry Funeral Home alongside his father and brother. Perry retired in 2005 after serving 50 years as a funeral director and embalmer. He graduated from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences. BRANDON SHIELDS of Woodstock, GA died February 19, 2024 at the age of 75. He devoted his life to building two businesses, Roberts-Shields Memorial Company and Shields Professional Vehicles. ADAN “ADAM” DIAZ TREVINO of Gonzales, TX died March 11, 2024 at the age of 86. He was the oldest active funeral director in Texas, having owned and operated Trevino Funeral Home for 65 years.
