Following graduation from high school in 1975, Gerry Montgom- ery started working as an apprentice mortuary sci- ence practitioner for the Rouch Funeral Home . He attended pre-mortu- ary science classes at the University of Southern Colorado and in 1979 graduated with honors from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science . In 1986, Gerry and co- worker Marvin Steward On March 12th ICCFA announced that the Annual Convention would be Cancelled After much consideration and discussion with attend- ees, exhibitors, and the support of our executive com- mittee, the International Cemetery, Cremation and Fu- neral Association (ICCFA) made the difficult decision to cancel its upcoming Annual Convention & Exposi- tion that was set for March 30 to April 2 in San Anto- nio, Texas due to public health and safety concerns sur- rounding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). We know that our attendees and exhibitors look for- ward to the networking and learning opportunities this convention offers every year and are deeply disappoint- ed that we cannot bring everyone together in San Anto- nio. This was not a decision that was taken lightly. The health of our members, attendees, exhibitors, speak- ers and staff is paramount and taking into consider- ation the recommendations of public health authorities about limiting large public gatherings and non-essen- tial travel, and the fact that ICCFA members need to be available to the families of their respective communities that they serve, the decision to cancel was made. We have much work to do to cancel commitments associated with a convention of this size, so we appre- ciate your patience as we sort them out. We will be contacting all registrants, exhibitors and sponsors re- garding refunds or the opportunity to move their in- vestment to a future meeting. An FAQ list is posted on the ICCFA website at https://iccfa.com/coronavirus/ , which will be updated with the latest information. While the 2020 ICCFA Annual Convention & Exposition will not be taking place, the staff and leadership will continue to pro- vide the deathcare profession with the best networking and educational opportunities possible, and we thank everyone for your continued patience, understanding and support.
