Meet the Mentors has been whol- ly funded by the Funeral Service Foundation since the program’s 2011 incep- tion. NFDA-member licensed funeral directors and em- balmers under the age of 40 had an opportunity to en- ter a drawing for a chance to participate in this exclu- sive program. The names of the 50 participants were an- nounced the week of Janu- ary 22 through a series of video drawings, which were shared on the NFDA web- site and social media sites. March, Sr, president and CEO of March Funer- al Homes in Baltimore, MD. March also serves on the Funeral Service Foun- dation board of trustees. Baskerville is a 2013 Meet the Mentors alum. There is no cost to partici- pate in the Meet the Men- tors program itself. The Fu- neral Service Foundation’s grant provides exclusive, ca- reer-transforming access to three mentors and covers attendees’ registration fees, two nights’ lodging and se- lect meals. The 50 individ- uals selected to attend only pay for their transportation to the program. More than 600 young professionals and emerg- ing leaders have benefited from the Meet the Men- tors program, which un- derscores the Foundation’s mission to support all of funeral service in building meaningful relationships with the families and com- munities it serves. The pro- gram is part of the Foun- dation ‘45 Awards, which are designed to transform the careers of funeral ser- vice professionals through scholarships, awards, re- sources and mission-fo- cused outreach.
