Foundation Partners Group Expands Continued from Page A20 the mortuary in 1973 and their two sons, Mark and Jeff, joined the business in the 1980s. Over the last 35 years, the company grew substantially through acquiring numerous local funeral homes and cemeteries. Mark and Jeff, along with their wives, Diane and Sharon, have continued to carry on the family tradition of service to their community while growing the company to be the premier funeral service brand in western Oregon. “Early on, we determined that Foundation Partners was the right fit for us, our staff, and for our company,” com- mented Mark. “Over our careers in funeral service, Jeff and I have been very active in state and national funeral associations. I previously served as president of the Na- tional Funeral Directors Association and Jeff is current- ly serving on the NFDA Policy Board. Throughout that time, we had consistently heard that Foundation Partners had a reputation as ‘people that care’. We have no doubt that they will continue our tradition of care for our em- ployees and the families we serve.” “Even though we have chosen Foundation Partners for our transition, we are keenly aware that our name will remain on the buildings,” added Jeff. “Therefore, it was imperative that we partner with a company committed to continuing our legacy. After completing our due diligence, it was clearly apparent that Foundation Partners was the logical choice.” The Adair Funeral Homes were founded in 1956 by Arthur and Martha Adair. After Arthur passed away in 1973, Martha along with her sons, Ron and Hank, continued operating the firm. The second Adair chapel opened in January of 1975 on the northwest side of Tuc- son, and a few years later, Desert Sunset was added to the company. Over the last 20 years, Hank’s daughter and son, Hillary and Taylor, joined the firm to continue the Adair legacy in the funeral profession. “When I first met Bob Bukala a while back, I saw we shared the same vision of where the funeral profession is headed,” said Martha. “Now, having learned even more about Foundation Partners Group, I am convinced that they are best positioned to help us continue to address the needs of Tucson’s families in the coming years.” “Our family sensed a real comfort level with the team at Foundation Partners, especially after we talked with other friends in funeral service who had joined them,” added Ron. “We continue to explore partnerships with the finest independent funeral homes and cremation centers in our profession,” stated Jason Widing, vice president of busi- ness development at FPG. “Foundation Partners Group’s strategy is to team up with likeminded independent operators in the funeral profession who believe in serving their communities with compassion, innovation, and a people focus,” stated Erin Whitaker, senior vice president of business development at FPG. “We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome these firms to our Foundation Partners family.” Foundation Partners Group is a leading provider of inno- vative funeral and cemetery experiences and products. As one of the largest privately-owned funeral and cemetery op- erators, FPG owns and operates funeral homes, cremation centers and cemeteries in 20 states and is actively seeking to expand its presence throughout the United States. For more information, visit www.foundationpartners.com. Michael opened East Coast Cremation in 1981, followed by the Palm Bay Funeral Home in 1984, and Space Coast Crematory in 1994. In 2011, the company changed its name to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care. Over the years, the company has grown into a leading provider of cremation and funeral services in Brevard County, FL. “As I was exploring my succession plan options, I wanted to ensure that I evaluated all aspects of the sale – not only for my sake but also for the benefit of my staff,” said Michael. “What intrigued me about Foundation Partners was they had the best of both worlds – a smaller company feel and the corporate infrastructure to help streamline day-to-day operations and support future growth. Being a larger orga- nization, they also provide opportunities for my employees that just are not possible as a privately-owned firm.” Mannie and Isabel Vieira opened Beach Funeral Homes in 2008 after purchasing an existing firm that had been founded in the early 1980s. Isabel served as the firm’s first licensed funeral direc- tor, and their son, Chris, joined shortly thereafter upon receiving his degree in mortuary science. “As we began to research options on succession plan- ning, we heard many good things about FPG,” stated Isabel. “Starting with our very first contact, we could tell that they were focused on our interests and com- mitted to guiding us along the way. We were all encour- aged that Foundation Part- ners emphasizes retaining the local feel of our funer- al homes as well as our core values,” commented Isabel. “What really excites me is all the new technology that Foundation Partners will be bringing to the fu- neral homes. And I am en- couraged by the expand- ed career opportunities for our staff,” added Chris. “It’s also comforting to see the number of industry leading firms we will be joining that have partnered with FPG.” The original Musgrove Family Mortuaries & Cem- eteries was founded as Day and Henderson in 1883 in Eugene, and in 1952, Wayne Musgrove joined the firm to begin his profes- sional funeral career.
